Ruminations
While I'm waiting for the new foil to come from OZ I've enjoyed armchair mothing. First I have to give Adam May huge kudos for his successful Carbon Footprint project. The conversion of a lowrider to foiler makes Katherine happy and encourages me to try the same with my old Magnum2. When Susan, my wife, saw Katherine's grin, she could picture herself foilborne as well. Thanks, Adam.
I guess Karl maight as well give up on his adjustable AoA project, since Bruce's latest Mothcast seems to indicate that it won't work. I hope Karl can prove him wrong just to show that the concept is valid.
And what's with the Aussie habit of naming cute girls Sam? I sorta like the smoky grey hair, but dirty blond works for me, too.
Enjoy Sam Brown
Stop!, by Sam Brown (1988)
All that I have is all that you've given me
did you never worry that I'd come to depend on you
I gave you all the love I had in me
now I find you've lied and I can't believe it's true
Wrapped in her arms I see you across the street
and I can't help but wonder if she knows what's going on
you talk of love but you don't know how it feels
when you realise that you're not the only one
Oh you'd better stop before you tear me all apart
you'd better stop before you go and break my heart
ooh you'd better stop
Time after time I've tried to walk away
but it's not that easy when your soul is torn in two
so I just resign myself to it every day
now all I can do is to leave it up to you
Oh you'd better stop before you tear me all apart
you'd better stop before you go and break my heart
ooh you'd better stop
Stop if love me
(you will remember)
now's the time to be sorry
(that day forever)
I won't believe that you'd walk out on me
Oh you'd better stop before you tear me all apart
you'd better stop before you go and break my heart
ooh you'd better stop

Hi Joe,
Your foils will be worth the wait, they will be the best $4K you every spent.
We never said that we couldn't be proven wrong, but I think that there are simply other areas where you can get a much bigger gain for less effort.
Don't forget Amac has tried and discarded the idea as well.
Bruce
Unfortunately, they will be the best $2K I've ever spent, since I'm only getting the main foil and strut. I'll be trying to layup a new rudder and aft foil myself to try to mimic the forward cant and thinner section.
Pennies are still tight, but with the trashing of my mainfoil strut, I decided to spend the $$$ and get at least that one professionally made.
Like I always say: If at first you don't succeed, give up!

Cheers Joe - glad to see people have taken an interest in the Carbon Footprint Project.
I know of a few more full conversions now happening as well.
Katherine is glad to hear Susan liked it! The girls seem to like pretty pink boats! (Roxy in the Vendee!)
